Galapagos Diving Facts

Average Water Temps
The warmest water is during March and April which averages 76º. The coldest water is in August and September averaging 66º. The water temperature in the north are warmer than in the south. The water temperature at Darwin and Wolf is usually 5º to 15º(2º to 8ºC) warmer than in the south.

Average Visibility
Visibility can be as little as 10 feet and as much as 100 feet but 40 feet is more typical. The visibility in the north...Darwin/Wolf tends to be higher than in the south.

Best Time to Visit Galapagos
Any time is a good time to visit Galapagos. The large schools of rays and sharks, plus sea turtles, sea lions, iguanas and penguins are found all year round.

What to Wear
Divers in Galapagos usually wear a full 6 mm wetsuits with a hood.

Galapagos Dive Equipment Rental

We can arrange equipment rental for you from the island of Santa Cruz or San Cristobal.  Equipment packages range from full gear to individual items that you may have forgotten or have gotten lost in transit.

Booties $3 + tax $40
Dive Computer $15 + tax $500

Additionally underwater cameras and video gear is available for rental. 

To reserve equipment we will need the following information from you:
1. Yacht
2. Dates and Time
3. License (we do not rent equipment to people without licenses)
4. Passenger height
5. Passenger weight
6. Passenger shoe size
7. Credit Card to put guarantee

Equipment will be delivered and returned to either the Baltra or San Cristobal Airport.  The passenger will need to show the dive license as well as sign a credit card voucher for the deposit at time of delivery.  The credit card voucher will be returned when the equipment is returned.
