Galapagos Diving - North Seymour & Surroundings
North Seymour
North Seymour is a flat uplifted island located just north of the Baltra airport approximately 90 minutes from Puerto Ayora. The island has 5 dive sites suitable for all levels of divers, and with the greatest variety of species per square foot this area is a favorite among locals. Frequent sites include a large Galapagos garden eel colony, sea turtles, sea lions, fur seals, golden eagle rays, yellowtail grunts, bigeye jacks, schools of snappers as well as frequent sightings of whitetip reef sharks, hammerheads and Galapagos shark.
Mosquera
This small sandy beach of an island runs north-south in the canal between Baltra and North Seymour. This intermediate wall dive offers the opportunity to see Galapagos garden eels, mantas, whitetips, amberjacks, rays, hammerheads, as well as the many sea lions which reside on the beach.
Daphne
This isolated tuff cone with vertical walls is located north of Santa Cruz and just west of Baltra and North Seymour. An intermediate wall dives can be difficult due to currents and surges. Sites include Galapagos sharks, morays, golden eagle rays, stingrays, whitetips, invertebrates, turtles, black corals, multicolored sponges and hundreds of fish.
